I am first-generation American, the eldest of three kids, and from Manassas, Virginia.

A fun or interesting fact about me is that I absolutely love reading. I love to read for myself and enjoy reading aloud in the classroom. Sometimes I get so intrigued by a book, that I’m personally reading, that I lose track of time.

My favorite children’s book is Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr.

My favorite place to visit, other than South Africa, is South Korea because I lived there for a year and a half.

I feel included when I communicate with people in a small group setting and enjoy a cup of coffee with them.

I enjoy teaching students the benefits of effective communication. Children have a natural curiosity that stems meaningful conversations and experiences that makes being around them a joy.

My hope for this school year is to foster an open communicative classroom where everyone feels comfortable to express themselves and engage in new experiences. As a human being, not just an educator, we learn from our surroundings and the people within it. I always find myself learning from my students and grateful for that natural exchange of information that is quite beneficial in my daily life.

My dream for this school year is for my students to grow socially, emotionally, and academically into the best person they can be.

My favorite children’s book is Danny, the Champion of the World by Roald Dahl.

My hope for this school year is to form strong bonds with all of the students who enter my classroom and foster an environment where they feel loved and supported.

My dream for this school year is to have my students leave 4th grade prepared to take on any challenge they face in and outside of school.
