Today, Discovery officially pledged its support, as part of being a National Wildlife Federation Eco-Schools USA “Green Flag” School, for the Campus Pollinator Pledge. Led by Eco-Action sponsors Ms. Burke and Ms. Williams, this initiative promises specific actions to improve and maintain pollinator-friendly conditions at Discovery.
Our campus features a dedicated Pollinator Garden, and we have plans to continue to maintain and expand pollinator habitats in the Discovery Woods and Nature’s Hideaway, our outdoor classroom.
The pledge reads:
My campus commits to protecting pollinators on campus by providing healthy habitat through creation, restoration and protection efforts. We will engage all campus stakeholders in our pollinator actions, including students, faculty, and staff, and educate the campus community on the importance of pollinators and our goals for their protection.
We continue this work annually as part of our Green Flag programs, and proudly support Eco-Schools USA programs here at Discovery.
