It is time to sign up for Instrumental Music for the Fall of 2024. Recently the 3rd grade students received two introductory classes about the instruments offered and completed a rating sheet to assist in choosing an instrument for next year. The rating sheets are coming home in Friday Folders. Instrumental Music is an option program where students receive one thirty-minute lesson per week during the school day on the instrument of their choice. Students are expected to complete 10 minutes of practice four times a week at home to reinforce the skills taught in the lesson. We perform a spring concert in 4th grade and a winter and spring concert in 5th grade.
All current 4th grade instrumental students need to sign up again for next year. Students in 4th grade now who didn’t participate as 4th graders may choose to start as a beginner in 5th Grade! Please use the link to complete the sign-up process ASAP. The form will automatically give you a confirmation email. Instrumental Music does not conflict with Choir and many students do both programs in 4th and 5th Grade. Instruments are expensive but excellent rental programs are available through local music stores. Information on renting and other helpful items are located in the sign-up form. School instruments are available for rent at a cost of $25-$100 per school year according to participation in Free/Reduced Lunch Program. School rental forms will be available in August.
